Community Reminder 2025
May 29th, 2025
WaterMarks Day Recap!
On May 10th, despite our National Science Foundation grant being terminated, our community partners came together to pull off an amazing city-wide event to celebrate WaterMarks. A huge thanks to Milwaukee Public Museum, the event Coordinating Committee, and all our partners who made this possible.

-Quick REMINDER-
During WaterMarks Day, our team and neighbors handed out free tickets for Milwaukee Public Museum. Those tickets expire at the end of the month, so make sure to use them before this Saturday, May 31st!

Announcements
WaterMarks is currently working through many changes. Unfortunately, at the end of April we prematurely lost our National Science Foundation funding. We were one of seven hundred projects to lose their funding on that day. We are working hard to find other funding sources in order to accomplish the many initiatives that we are currently running and the programs we have planned for the future. In spite of all of that, we have been reminded of the power and commitment of community. Our community partners and neighbors were able to make an amazing event of WaterMarks Day, on May 10th. Thank you to everyone involved in making that day amazing, and to those of you that came out! We appreciate your support and continued encouragement during this uncertain time.
Although WaterMarks is going to look different moving forward, it is clear that the project is not going away anytime soon. Our goals of providing informal science learning that is gained through art, and is centered on community knowledge, engagement, and care are the same and stronger than ever!
