Grasslyn Manor Letter Workshop UPDATE

"G" stands for: Grasslyn Manor, Grassroots. Generations, Growth, Great Lawns, and many more!

Grasslyn Manor had their "letter workshop" on the evening of Monday, March 3. During the meeting they discussed updates of their "Build the Ark" initiative and they worked together to choose the letter for their upcoming WaterMarker. They have chosen the letter "G" to stand for words that they belief reflect their neighborhood.

During the workshop Debbie led the attendees through an activity where everyone was tasked to come up with words that they felt represents the Grasslyn Manor neighborhood. The above photo shows a word cloud that was created from the words the group came up with. The size of the word shows how many times it was brought up by the group.

The workshop was led by Debbie Sanjani (artist), Michael Timm (scientist), Steve O'Connell (neighbor), and WaterMarks' Katie Avila Loughmiller. The next event for the Sherman Park neighborhood will be held in April, so keep an eye on our newsletter and social media for updates. We are so excited to continue to work with the Sherman Park community!

Community Resources

An integral part of the environmental conversation is how we plan to protect and support the vulnerable members of our communities. With the Wisconsin winter in full swing, we are thinking about everyone struggling through the cold and the people that are working tirelessly to help.

Call this number and the operators will provide you with information on a wide variety of non-emergency family, financial, health and social service issues.

Community services for those facing houselessness

Consider donating items as well as your time, to help support integral organizations. After the New Year, many organizations have noticed a decrease in financial support, but we are moving into the coldest part of the year when these programs need the most support.

Please take some time to research what resources may be available in your neighborhood and the surrounding areas.

The following links lead to some of the organizations that work in the Milwaukee area. Take a special look at Impact and the MKE Coalition on Housing & Homelessness.
